Prince Edward County Volunteer Firefighters Association is comprised of seven highly trained departments that provide a wide range of services to the citizens in Central Virginia. There are a total of approximately 320 firefighters in the county with many of them cross- trained in the emergency medical field. There are three departments in the county that provide not only fire suppression, but are licensed in emergency medical care by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Together the seven departments respond to an average of 1,500 Fire & EMS calls per year. When not responding to incidents in their community, members put in countless hours of training or fund raising for their department and the Association.
